(Poetic memories of Mauritius)
Jeewansing Ramlugun
Fallen head over heels
in love with nature
at the tenderest of times
of life , was of another order,
the purest of emotions
sensed, without perplexities,
with devotion unquestioned,
joys altogether unalloyed
felt whilst sojourning
and raptly surveying
head-turning tapestries
of lushness and luxuriance,
all still adhering in memory
with remarkable endurance.
